Botanicals Hand Picked

JUNIPER BERRIES

The key botanical is the Juniper Berries. The quality of the Macedonian juniper is well known worldwide in the business of craft Gin. In producing White Ridge, we are using it at the source, in the ‘Home of Juniper’, Bistra mountain. Our juniper bushes have intriguing vibrant blue berries and their enchanting aroma has the power to cleanse the air, inviting positivity into any space. Even a few scattered berries could transform the gloomiest of rooms into a sanctuary of serenity and joy. Our juniper berries have more to offer since it is a well-known fact that these humble fruits contain potent healing properties. Mixed with few other botanicals, they are giving us the perfect blend of WHITE RIDGE.

SIDERITIS, IRONWORT, OR MOUNTAIN TEA

Sideritis, commonly known as Ironwort or Mountain Tea is a genus of flowering plants that is native to the Bistra region and has been used for centuries in traditional medicine and herbal remedies due to its various potential health benefits.
In the WHITE RIDGE gin, we use this herb trying to extract the element of relaxation and stress relief and also cognitive-enhancing effects, since it was used traditionally as a calming and relaxing herb and also to improve memory, concentration, and overall cognitive function.

THYME, MAJCHINA DUSHICA

Thyme, or locally known as majchina dushica, is an herb that belongs to the mint family and is also a native to the Bistra mountain. It is used in traditional medicine and also in culinary.

Majchina dushica has a long history of use. It contains essential oils, primarily thymol, which possesses antiseptic, antimicrobial, and expectorant properties. It has been traditionally used to treat respiratory conditions like coughs, colds, bronchitis, and sore throat.

In the WHITE RIDGE gin these small fragrant leaves and delicate flowers give also a touch of beauty.

ELDERFLOWER (BOZEL)

The third medicine herb that we are using in botanical blend of the WHITE RIDGE is also a native to the Bistra mountain region and is used in cuisine and herbal remedies. It is a very popular ingredient for making elderflower syrup, teas, jams, and liqueurs.

For the WHITE RIDGE we harvest the elderflower in early summer when it is in full bloom.
